My client is a UK and International accountancy and advisory firm seeking an ambitious Accounting and Advisory Assistant Manager to join its Accounting & Advisory team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and supportive environment. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, technical accounting work and team leadership responsibilities. This role could be a role for a newly qualified accountant, or potentially someone who has at least 2 years post qualified experience for a 'step before manager' role.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing statutory financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Preparing and reviewing group consolidations and year-end accounts.
- Liaising with audit teams to resolve accounting and reporting queries.
- Assisting with a range of advisory assignments and client projects.
- Reviewing corporation tax computations.
- Monitoring statutory deadlines and ensuring timely submission of filings
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact.
- Working closely with colleagues across multiple service lines to deliver a high-quality client experience.
- Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members, providing guidance and support where required.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and monitoring work in progress.
- Tracking budgets, utilisation and team performance against agreed targets.
- Assisting with debtor management and supporting timely fee collection.
- Acting as a technical resource within the team and keeping abreast of changes in legislation and accounting standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification with up to two or three years post-qualified experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of entities, including consolidated group accounts.
- A strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive and client-focused approach.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements.
