A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a senior role delivering high-quality building services design solutions across a range of projects.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of HVAC and mechanical building services for pharmaceutical, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient, innovative, and sustainable designs that meet client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage mechanical design elements of projects from concept to completion

Produce detailed HVAC system designs, specifications, and reports

Coordinate with architects, structural, and electrical teams to ensure integrated design solutions

Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and calculations

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)

7+ years' experience in mechanical building services design

Strong technical background in HVAC systems within pharma, commercial, or industrial sectors

Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
