The Financial Controller will play a key role in leading the financial operations of the business, ensuring financial stability, reporting accuracy, and providing commercial insights to drive strategic decision-making. Reporting directly into the CFO you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to the overall business strategy with a commercial focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support commercial decision-making, business strategy, and operational improvements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Lead and manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with senior management to guide business strategy, including financial planning, risk management, and performance optimization.
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support ongoing operations and growth.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including tax filings and financial audits.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a small finance team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
