Regulatory Affairs Lead
The Role
This is a high-impact, strategic position designed to anticipate regulatory shifts and proactively safeguard business interests. You will be recognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert, often representing the organization in regulatory body committees and industry working groups.
Your objective is to drive the regulatory agenda to enable business growth while leading complex, cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Advisory: Embed the regulatory operating model and provide best-in-class scientific and legislative advice to support New Product Development (NPI).
- Compliance Management: Oversee raw material, finished goods, labeling, and packaging compliance, including tariff classifications and statement development.
- Horizon Scanning: Lead the monitoring of emerging legislative trends, food fraud risks, and industry recalls, coordinating cross-site responses to regulators.
- Stakeholder Influence: Manage relationships with trade associations and government agencies; assist Quality, Marketing, and Commercial teams with legislative interpretation.
- Global Export Support: Facilitate third-country registrations for manufacturing plants and products, ensuring compliance across international supply bases.
- Systems Development: Drive the evolution of regulatory ICT support systems to ensure a consistent, digitized approach across all global sites.
What You Bring
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Proven track record within the Food industry, specifically within a Regulatory, Quality Assurance, or R&D function.
- Legislative Knowledge: Deep understanding of EU food legislation and standards; experience with national or international trade associations is highly beneficial.
- Mindset: A research-oriented, "interrogative" mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Aptitude: A strong eye for detail and an aptitude for developing and optimizing regulatory data systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to influence at a leadership level.
Location & Flexibility
Location: Based in Co. Kerry, with significant flexibility for hybrid working or being based at other regional sites within the network.
