Job Description
The team and I are delighted to be partnered up with an award winning business in Kerry who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to oversee and manage the finance and accounts department. The role is an inital 12 month contract with option of extension or going permenant. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all financial operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also leading efforts for continuous improvement and innovation within the department. This role offers the opportunity to set the foundations for future expansion while working closely with senior management to drive financial success.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the management team, providing strategic insight and financial leadership.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Take full responsibility for the group's companies' budgeting and financial reporting.
- Prepare internal management accounts, loan portfolio reports, and board updates.
- Oversee and manage debt-capital funding lines.
- Supervise daily banking, funder relations, and reconciliation activities.
- Lead the annual audit engagement with the statutory auditor.
- Ensure that financial controls are effective and consistently applied.
- Identify and lead projects aimed at enhancing the finance function, including leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve customer service.
- Assess and contribute to business development opportunities within the firm.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and financial transparency.
- Ensure compliance with all financial procedures and accounting standards.
- Oversee prudent cash management and monitor bank balances on an ongoing basis.
- Take on any additional reasonable tasks as assigned by senior management.
Experience Required:
- Experience in managing a team
- Qualified Accountant; ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Follows through and metrics driven
- Exceptional time management and able to solve problems
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
