They are seeking an experienced Manager (Material Costing & Engineering) to join the dynamic team. You will be responsible for overseeing the costing and pricing strategy for the apparel products. This role will work closely with the design, production, and finance teams to optimize product costs and ensure profitability. Key Responsibilities:
(Four core duties include Cost Modeling and Analysis, Pricing and Margin Management, Supplier Negotiations and Sourcing and Product Costing and Profitability)
- - Develop and maintain comprehensive costing models for brand product lines and materials (Outerwear focus)
- - Analyze material and relevant overhead costs to identify areas for cost reduction and optimization
- - Perform detailed cost breakdowns and provide recommendations to the design and production teams
- Collaborate with the PD & Planning team to determine optimal pricing and profit margins
- - Analyze the impact of cost changes on product pricing and profitability
- - Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support pricing decisions
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the most favorable pricing and terms
- - Evaluate new supplier proposals and make recommendations based on cost and quality
- - Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure consistent supply and pricing
- Train and manage a team of costing analysts and engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a costing or cost engineering role within the apparel or sportswear/ fashion industry
- Proven track record of driving cost savings and margin improvements under product development/ initial stage
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Experience leading and developing a team of costing professionals
