Technical Support Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The organisation is looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join

the Transport Technology Systems Development team as a Technical Support

Engineer. This role requires reporting to the Senior Software Engineers within the

TTS Development team. Key responsibilities include performing routine technical

duties and providing support to the Operations team in the Transport Technology

Directorate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The principal duties of the Applications Support Engineer include, but are not

limited to, the following:

 Collaborate with the software engineering team to assist in the creation and

enhancement of top-tier software applications.

 Responsible for documenting and updating the configuration data files using

the organisation's internal tools.

 Manage the master data repository to ensure it is up-to-date.

 Conduct routine system checks and generate daily, weekly, and monthly

reports.

 Document and maintain up-to-date product information.

 Prioritize and handle multiple active issues simultaneously.

 Diagnose and resolve minor software issues, including firmware update

problems.

 Perform manual testing and verification of software features as needed.

 Support senior team members in meeting all compliance and audit standards.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Have a minimum of 2 years' demonstrable experience working in a technical

support role to Operations & development team.

 High proficiency in Microsoft Office software specifically with MS Excel & MS

Word.

 Have experience with documentation, data analysis and reporting.

 Familiarity with software bug tracking tools like Jira or others.

 Be punctual and reachable via communication tools used by the project team

like MS Teams, Emails etc.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate will also have:

a) Knowledge of programming and an understanding of the software development

process.

b) Experience with coding languages such as Microsoft C# or Python is a plus but

not mandatory.

c) Intermediate SQL skills, database knowledge and ability to execute given SQL

queries.
