This leading PLC is looking to hire a proactive, self-motivated and collaborative individual to work as senior financial accountant. The individual will join a team of four employees in the Dublin office, based in Dublin City Centre, and report to the group controller.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
- Assist with the creation of the management accounts provided to management and the board of directors
- Liaise directly with auditors in relation to queries raised and respond to audit requests in a timely manner
- Perform analytical reviews of account balances and create balance sheet reconciliations
- Calculate and post month end journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts and analyse the company's performance against these
- Take ownership of local statutory reporting, including account preparation and management of the audit processes
- Identify and implement improvements to the company's controls and systems, including assisting with ongoing projects
- Together with the tax manager ensure tax compliance in all countries of operation
Key Attributes / Qualifications:
- Energetic, with a high level of initiative, along with the ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Fully qualified accountant, preferably ACA, with at least 1 year PQE
- Strong technical skills in accounting
- Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of work.
- US GAAP experience preferable
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
