Morgan McKinley are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join a growing team in Dublin. This is a permanent role with hybrid working options.
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for construction materials, services, and equipment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively. The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring that all procurement activities support the company's goals for cost control, quality, and timely project completion.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and company goals.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance
- Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and tenders.
- Evaluate bids, negotiate terms and conditions, and award contracts.
- Manage and monitor contracts to ensure compliance and performance.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets.
- Monitor and report on cost performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
- Oversee the management of inventory to ensure optimal levels of stock.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project needs and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
Key requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement with a proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, services, and equipment.
- May require travel to meet with suppliers and attend industry events.
