Principal Engineer

A leading pharmaceutical company in Dublin is seeking a contract Principal Engineer to support the delivery of key capital projects involving high-end equipment and automation. This role offers the opportunity to play a lead role in system design, vendor coordination, and commissioning of cutting-edge inspection technology within a global operations team.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the equipment and automation workstream across design, integration, and commissioning phases
• Develop technical specifications and manage vendor deliverables for inspection systems
• Collaborate with global stakeholders on timelines, risk management, and equipment readiness
• Ensure GMP compliance through test plan development, qualification execution, and traceability
• Support installation, FAT/SAT, and validation of vision-based inspection systems
• Contribute to project reporting, SOP development, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree a plus
• 5+ years' experience in pharma or medtech projects, ideally on capital equipment or inspection systems
• Proven ability to lead technical project streams and liaise with equipment vendors
• Strong knowledge of GMPs, equipment validation, and automation platforms
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
