A leader in the waste management sector is seeking a MRF Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations at a large Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising staff, ensuring optimal performance, and maintaining the efficient and compliant operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the MRF, acting as the main point of contact for all personnel working at the facility.
- Collaborate with the MRF Manager to develop work schedules that meet both operational and logistical needs, while ensuring sufficient coverage during staff absences or annual leave.
- Maximise production and operational efficiency by managing staff numbers, work hours, material handling, fuel usage, and other relevant activities.
- Ensure a steady supply of quality feedstock, addressing any contamination issues immediately, and coordinating with delivery sources to adjust pricing as needed.
- Oversee waste material handling, separation, and delivery to appropriate outlets, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and operational guidelines.
- Monitor and adhere to revenue and cost control measures, including waste categorisation, weighbridge traffic, and fuel usage.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program for all fixed and mobile plant equipment within the MRF, ensuring that daily cleaning and maintenance activities are completed by operatives.
- Ensure all personnel are trained for their roles and work in compliance with health and safety guidelines. Address any staffing issues through appropriate processes.
- Assist with related operational tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Proven supervisory experience in a production or waste management/processing facility.
- Experience in supervising in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment.
- Ability to manage a site-based role, with a minimum commitment of 5 days per week.
