Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trade Qualified Fitter to join our manufacturing team based in North Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and plant machinery to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent fault-finding abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise production downtime.
- Carry out equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and production efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders, and reports accurately using the company's maintenance management system.
- Liaise effectively with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption.
- Support shutdowns, planned maintenance schedules, and project work as required.
- Participate in on-call or shift cover arrangements where applicable.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fitter/Turner, Maintenance Fitter, or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, packaging, FMCG, or high-volume production environments.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Manual handling, forklift, or MEWP certification.

Working Hours
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday; however, flexibility may be required to support shift operations, planned maintenance shutdowns, and emergency breakdown situations.
