As Head of People & Culture, you'll join the Executive Leadership Team and become a key voice in shaping the organisation's direction. Your leadership will influence how people work, grow, connect and perform across multiple locations, and you'll play a central role in creating a modern, inclusive, high‑performing culture.
You will be the strategic partner the senior team depends on, the champion the HR function needs, and the confident decision‑maker who elevates people experience across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Shape and deliver a progressive people agenda aligned to future organisational needs.
- Build leadership capability and support senior decision‑making at executive level.
- Lead culture change, organisational development and long‑term workforce planning.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and a positive employee experience.
- Lead confidently on industrial and employee relations in a unionised environment.
- Provide clear, authoritative guidance on complex ER cases, investigations and WRC matters.
- Back your HR team - offering direction, clarity and decision‑making where it's needed most.
- Challenge non‑compliant or inappropriate practices and uphold governance standards.
- Oversee all HR operations with a focus on excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen digital HR capability, systems and analytics.
- Mentor and develop a committed HR team to deliver high‑quality support across the organisation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years' senior HR leadership experience.
- Strong IR/ER expertise and confidence managing unionised environments.
- Strategic capability, resilience and the confidence to influence at senior level.
- Experience in organisational development, leadership development and change.
- A values‑led approach, excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A degree in HR or business with HR specialism (CIPD/postgrad desirable).
- Willingness to travel across regional sites.
