Director of Investment Funds Distribution & Market Expansion
In this role you will focus on driving commercial growth and expanding the group's Investment Funds Distribution activities. The role is designed for a highly autonomous, business-oriented professional with strong market presence, combining leadership, client development, and technical expertise in funds distribution, while remaining selectively involved in complex operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
Funds Distribution Expertise & Operational Involvement
- Maintain hands-on involvement in complex or strategic fund distribution matters, particularly in relation to cross-border fund registrations and distribution.
- Advise fund promoters on the analysis and structuring of their distribution models, anticipating regulatory constraints and market entry challenges.
- Ensure high-quality delivery on assigned engagements, in line with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Monitor regulatory developments, market practices, and distribution trends impacting the global funds industry.
- Contribute to the evolution of funds distribution services, with a focus on innovation, scalability, and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to leverage digital tools, automation, data analytics, and Artificial Intelligence in processes.
- Support the development of new tech-enabled or enhanced service offerings aligned with market needs.
Business Development, Sales & Market Expansion
- Lead and execute the commercial and market expansion strategy for Investment Funds Distribution services.
- Identify, originate, and develop new business opportunities with asset managers, fund promoters, and institutional clients.
- Actively promote the firm's fund registration services for UCITS and AIFs.
- Build, maintain, and leverage a strong professional network and address book to generate commercial opportunities.
- Prepare and lead client pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and commercial presentations.
- Position the firm as a key market player through participation in industry events, conferences, and targeted networking initiatives.
- Act as a trusted commercial partner for clients, with a strong focus on long-term relationship building and revenue growth.
Experience & Expertise
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in investment funds distribution, regulatory advisory, or asset management, within an international context.
- Strong commercial and sales background, with proven ability to generate and close business opportunities.
- Deep understanding of UCITS and AIF distribution regulations and cross-border marketing frameworks.
- Ability to combine commercial leadership with selective operational involvement on high-value matters.
- Demonstrated interest and good understanding of digital transformation and AI applications in financial services.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and start-up mindset, with a growth-oriented and proactive approach.
- High level of autonomy, ownership, and self-drive.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
- Established professional network and market credibility within the funds industry.
