Food Safety Quality Assurance Lead
My client, a major player in the Irish foodservice sector, is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Food Safety Quality Assurance Lead to join their team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of monitoring and verifying all food safety and quality systems on site, while also supporting the wider Product Quality function. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and protect the quality and safety of all food products across the depot
- Implement and maintain the site Food Safety & Quality Management system
- Act as a core member and on-site lead within the Food Safety team
- Manage supplier and product approvals for packer-brand items
- Ensure documentation and records meet internal and external audit requirements
- Conduct product checks, process assessments, and internal audits
- Investigate and close out customer product complaints efficiently
- Provide regular reports to site leadership on food safety, quality, and compliance performance
- Serve as the key contact for operations on FSQA matters
- Deliver food safety and quality training where needed
- Drive corrective and preventative actions
- Maintain strong document control practices
- Support the review of branded product ranges, ensuring alignment with defined safety and quality standards
- Create or review product specifications, engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist the Technical and QC teams with day-to-day duties
Requirements
- Qualification in food science, food safety, or a related discipline (desirable)
- Experience in a food industry quality assurance role
- Strong understanding of food safety standards, procedures, and legislation
- Familiarity with product specification systems is an advantage
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
