Carry out in-house quality control testing on incoming raw materials, production samples, and finished goods with limited supervision. Work under the direction of Quality Control Chemists and laboratory management. The role involves collaboration with internal departments such as Production and Purchasing, as well as laboratory teams within associated organisations, particularly regarding testing procedures and resource requirements.
The position requires maintaining a professional and cooperative work environment by communicating effectively and building positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and supervisors, while supporting and improving operational performance standards.
Support day-to-day laboratory operations and perform assigned analytical tasks.
Prepare and select appropriate standards for comparison with production samples.
Assess incoming raw material samples to ensure they meet established specifications.
Collect, review, and archive Certificates of Analysis for raw materials.
Maintain records and documentation associated with HACCP Critical Control Points (CCP) and Operational Prerequisite Programmes (OPRP).
Prepare samples for external laboratory analysis when required.
Organise, label, store, and dispose of retained quality control samples appropriately.
Ensure laboratory instruments are routinely cleaned, maintained, and calibrated.
Identify issues within quality control processes and propose improvements or corrective actions.
Clean laboratory glassware and maintain a tidy, organised working environment with adequate stock levels of laboratory supplies.
Assist with the development and implementation of quality control procedures aimed at continuous improvement within the laboratory.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all testing and laboratory activities.
Ensure sufficient supplies of reagents and consumables are available.
Select and use appropriate reference materials for quality assessment.
Perform routine analytical tests such as Brix, pH, turbidity, and other standard product evaluations.
Follow all relevant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety policies, and approved testing methods.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
Minimum of two years' experience in a laboratory or quality control environment.
Proficiency in common computer applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to think critically and collaborate with different departments.
