Our client is a leading semi-state body with offices based in Dublin City Centre. They are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of financial reporting, management accounting, regulatory compliance and business partnering within a complex organisation. Working closely with senior finance colleagues, the role provides financial support across multiple business areas, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial controls and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
The position offers broad exposure across financial reporting, budgeting, audit, tax and process improvement, while partnering with stakeholders to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports for senior management.
- Manage month-end close activities, including general ledger reviews, journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Produce regulatory and compliance reporting for external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial planning activities.
- Assist with corporate tax compliance and the preparation of tax returns.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, acting as a key finance contact.
- Provide financial business partnering and advisory support to operational and management teams.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis, reports and briefing materials to support business requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting processes, controls and governance frameworks.
- Develop and maintain financial procedures, policies and documentation to support a strong control environment.
Candidate Profile
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience in financial reporting, management accounting or financial control within a complex organisation.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience preparing statutory financial statements.
- Experience in financial services, regulated industries or large corporate environments is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across finance and operational teams.
- Self-motivated, adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outputs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or general ledger systems.
