We are hiring a Data Centre Electrician for our Tech Multinational client who needs immediate support for their data center operations. This contract role is critical in ensuring all electrical systems are maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Escort and supervise third-party contractors, vendors, and service providers on-site.
- Perform routine tasks such as equipment monitoring, rounds, and initial assessments under supervision.
- Monitor and maintain equipment like electrical, mechanical, and fire safety systems with guidance.
- Assist in emergency responses following established procedures under supervision.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols during all activities.
- Record daily operational readings for electrical equipment (e.g., temperatures, voltages, currents).
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planned maintenance activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance on Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), system control panels, and batteries.
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical equipment and sensors.
- Support electrical infrastructure across the data center campus, ranging from large to smaller facilities.
- Handle shutdowns and maintenance tasks like Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) shutdowns, and Power Interruption Testing (PIT).
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years in technical fields such as electrical, automotive, controls, or data center environments.
- Certification: Qualified Electrical Worker and valid SafePass card.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Availability: Flexible work schedule, Monday through Friday, between 7 AM and 7 PM.
- Preferred: Experience in high-availability environments like data centers, refineries, hospitals, or manufacturing facilities.
Additional Information:
- Previous experience in data center operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with building management systems and electrical infrastructure in critical environments is beneficial.
