A global hyperscale cloud infrastructure provider is seeking a mid-level to senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its electrical engineering team. This role will support a large-scale EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) design engineering organization responsible for the development of new-build, mission-critical data centres across the region.
You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders spanning design, construction, operations, and sustainability to support the delivery of highly resilient infrastructure environments.
In this role, you will contribute to multi-million-dollar infrastructure designs that underpin a wide range of digital services used by millions of customers worldwide. Innovation is strongly encouraged, and engineering ingenuity is central to delivering quality, speed, and cost efficiency at scale. If you can design robust electrical systems, understand the critical equipment requirements of data centres, and appreciate the constructability of complex designs, this role may be a strong fit.
This position is based onsite, supporting multiple active construction projects with a fixed five-day-per-week schedule. Office space, tools, computational resources, and full on-site support will be provided.
Support electrical design activities for mission-critical infrastructure within new-build data centres across EMEA.
Contribute to multiple concurrent projects spanning different geographical regions.
Review and approve electrical equipment submittals.
Manage external design consultancies to create, review, and release data centre electrical designs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to capture and translate user and operational requirements.
Troubleshoot design-related issues and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA).
Define project scopes and provide engineering support during construction phases.
Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment.
Travel to project sites to perform engineering evaluations, audits, and site launches.
Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and apply company-specific engineering standards.
Maintain a positive mindset and consistently propose creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
Your day will be that of a creative problem-solver, where engineering decisions directly impact services relied upon by millions of users globally. You'll collaborate with diverse technical teams, translating complex requirements into resilient, scalable electrical systems. Your work will span early-stage design concepts, site selection reviews, and the delivery of technical solutions that push the boundaries of modern data centre engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data centre facilities and equipment.
Experience with commissioning activities.
Familiarity with regional building codes and electrical regulations.
Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering environments supporting mission-critical facilities, such as data centres, power generation, or oil and gas.
Experience negotiating with and managing contractors during design and construction phases.
Exposure to fast-track design/build projects or large-scale upgrade programs.
Experience carrying design concepts from early exploration through detailed design and deployment at scale.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and produce construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documentation.
You will join a collaborative, forward-thinking group of engineers focused on solving complex infrastructure challenges at global scale. The team values innovation, knowledge sharing, and mutual support, empowering engineers to contribute ideas that shape the future of large-scale digital infrastructure.
This organization operates one of the world's largest and most advanced cloud and digital infrastructure platforms. As a long-standing pioneer in hyperscale infrastructure, it supports customers ranging from fast-growing startups to some of the world's largest enterprises. Joining this team means contributing to systems that define reliability, performance, and sustainability at an industry-leading scale.
