Depository Analyst (Maternity Cover)
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Depository Analyst professional to join a leading global financial services organisation on a maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will join a high-performing team responsible for delivering Depositary and Trustee oversight services to a broad range of regulated and unregulated investment funds.
This role offers excellent exposure to investment fund oversight, regulatory compliance, investment restriction monitoring, NAV review processes, cash flow monitoring, and client relationship management within a dynamic and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Fiduciary Oversight
- Act as a key point of contact in the delivery of Depositary and Trustee oversight services to investment fund clients.
- Perform investment and borrowing restriction monitoring across designated funds, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and fund documentation.
- Monitor investment management activities including securities lending, OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, and third-party held assets.
- Complete cash flow monitoring activities and investigate, escalate and track any issues identified.
- Assist with the onboarding and setup of new funds from an investment monitoring, NAV review, cash flow monitoring and asset register perspective.
- Support oversight of operational service providers and ensure agreed service standards are maintained.
- Engage directly with clients and service providers regarding investment restriction breaches and other fiduciary-related matters.
- Manage the flow of information between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
Projects & Change Initiatives
- Participate in regulatory change projects, process improvement initiatives and operational enhancement programmes.
- Contribute to the development and standardisation of fiduciary oversight processes across jurisdictions.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as required.
Regulatory & Industry Knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UCITS, AIFMD and other relevant regulations impacting the funds industry.
- Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure oversight activities remain aligned with best practice.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience within Fiduciary Services, Depositary Services, Investment Compliance, Fund Operations or a related financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of Trustee and Depositary responsibilities.
- Knowledge of investment funds and financial instruments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Experience with investment restriction monitoring and exception-based monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of UCITS and/or AIFMD investment restrictions.
- Experience within fund administration, custody, asset servicing, trustee/depositary or investment compliance environments.
- Exposure to derivatives, securities lending and complex investment strategies.
- VBA and/or SQL experience.
