Data Security & Governance Consultant

Morgan McKinley has partnered with a leading Irish tech consultancy that's growing its Cyber Security team and they're looking for a Principal Data Security & Governance Consultant to help shape and deliver their data protection services.

You'll be working with some of the biggest enterprise names around, helping them get their data governance strategies right, choose the right tools, and stay ahead of changing regulations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Acting as a trusted advisor to clients on everything from data security and privacy to compliance.
• Reviewing current data protection setups and offering practical, clear recommendations.
• Helping clients build strong data protection policies and make sure they stick to them.
• Keeping up with the latest changes in laws like GDPR and making sure your clients do too.
• Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Leading workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs for clients.
• Contributing to the growth of the consultancy's data security and governance offering and eventually building out a team.

What I am Looking For:

• 10+ years' experience in data governance or security, especially in regulated industries like finance.
• Someone comfortable working directly with C-level leaders and senior stakeholders.
• A solid understanding of data protection tools (e.g. Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Netwrix, Forcepoint).
• A people person confident presenting, leading conversations, and building relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness you get how security fits into the bigger business picture.
• Experience with frameworks and regulations like ISO27001, GDPR, and CCPA.

Bonuses:

• A degree in InfoSec, Computer Science or similar.
• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, or GDPR Practitioner.
• Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing role.
