The successful candidate will oversee a centralised customs clearance team in Dublin, supporting the completion of over 100,000 declarations annually. You will combine operational expertise with people management, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department.
Supervise and support the Data Entry team on day-to-day activities and queries.
Act as a key point of escalation for operational and customs issues.
Onboard, train, and develop new team members.
Allocate declaration assignments fairly and efficiently to meet business deadlines.
Review, design, and implement process improvements to maximise efficiency and reduce duplication.
Ensure customer authorisations and clearance procedures are correctly managed.
Drive compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Build and maintain strong knowledge of customer requirements to ensure effective service delivery.
Support the Clearance Manager in daily task delegation and performance management.
Ensure accurate and timely input of customs data into the management system.
Liaise closely with operational teams to secure accurate documentation and information.
Generate reports and provide analysis to support decision-making.
Cover team tasks where necessary and provide hands-on support during peak periods.
Strong knowledge and experience of customs procedures and requirements (essential).
Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach teams.
High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
