Senior Contracts Manager

The Role
As Senior Contracts Manager, you'll take ownership of contracts and variations. You'll be the go-to person for commercial decisions, ensuring projects run efficiently, risks are managed, and margins are protected.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Manage variations, change orders, claims, and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
- Act as the escalation point for commercial issues.
Pricing & Bids
- Provide costing and pricing support for tenders and proposals.
- Assess scope, capacity, and risk with project teams.
Project & Commercial Support
- Support teams with reconciliations, POs, proformas, and reporting.
- Track contract performance, claims, and WIP.
- Maintain a commercial risk register and support audits.
Client Interaction & Collections
- Own contract-level client relationships.
- Ensure timely invoicing and collections while maintaining strong client partnerships.
Team & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor junior commercial staff.
- Strengthen the resilience and capability of the commercial function.
What You Bring
- 8+ years in commercial/contracts roles in telecoms, utilities, construction, or engineering.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Skilled in cost planning, budgeting, and risk management.
- Organised, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple contracts.
- Confident communicator, calm under pressure, and commercially resilient.
