The Role
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be a key member of a collaborative design team, responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking detailed civil engineering design for a range of projects, including roads, drainage, earthworks, and public realm spaces.
- Producing technical drawings, reports, and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Conducting feasibility studies and site investigations to inform design decisions.
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Assisting with project management, including monitoring budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Providing technical support and guidance to junior team members.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a civil design role, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical proficiency with civil design software, particularly AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- A solid understanding of Irish design standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to design.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Progress towards or a desire to achieve Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
