    Change Leader - Experience of delivering complex organisation design change projects

    Change Leader required for a leading Organisational Design Project with a leading organisation. This project will focus on building an organisational design approach and principles, organisational design capability, tools and support for all organisational design changes and then deploy these principles and capabilities to optimise organisational design in order to enhance the achievement of our strategic goals.

    This project will deliver a consistent and coherent approach that will underpin all restructuring initiatives following a review of this company's Organisation Design Framework and the implementation of best practice organisational design principles. The organisational design model will operate in alignment with company's values, configuring the organisation structures in a way that optimises the delivery of our strategy and resource allocation. Enhancing job design in support of employee satisfaction.

    The Organisation Design Change Manager will lead this project and strategic initiatives that align people, structures, and culture with the university's evolving academic and operational goals.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage defined strategic organisation design projects from initiation through to implementation.
    • Align organisational design (OD)efforts with Group's Strategy
    • Change Manage origination design initiatives, influence and manage key stakeholder relationships with HR Partners and Senior Leaders.
    • Review Organisation Design Framework to ensure implementation of best practice organisational design principles.
    • Partner with university senior leaders, people managers, and HR Partner to assess current structures, identify gaps, and co-create future-ready organisational models.
    • Develop and maintain organisational capability models, role frameworks, and spans of control.
    • Facilitate workforce planning and talent alignment during restructuring or transformation initiatives.
    • Build internal OD capability to the HR Partner team and People Managers, through training, coaching, and toolkits.
    • Create communities of practice and knowledge-sharing forums to embed OD expertise across the university.
    • Design and deliver change management strategies that support adoption and sustainability of transformation programmes.
    • Conduct stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, communication plans and readiness evaluations.
    • Collaborate with the HR Partner team, Strategy team and leadership to ensure alignment between people, processes, and systems.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives and organisational design outcomes.
    • Adopt a Change Management approach, working closely with Project Managers and Change Leads to facilitate the organisation to realise the benefits of technology investments, freeing up resources for cross functional strategic priorities.
    • Lead and manage external stakeholder relationships with consultancy experts.
    • People Manage a small team of change and OD specialists where required.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • 7-10 years' professional experience working in a human resources management / change management
    • Experience of delivering complex organisation design change projects
    • Demonstrable exceptional stakeholder engagement, collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
    • Experience with tools such as Visio, OrgVue, Prosci, or similar platforms.
    • Understands business strategy and translates it into design principles and operating models.
    • Demonstrable understanding of Strategic Workforce Planning.
    • Knowledge and experience of HR Information Systems.

    Organisation Design

    Experience in building OD capability through training, coaching, and toolkit development.

    Track record of delivering OD consultancy and partnership models.

    Proven experience in organisation design and change management within complex environments.

    Strong knowledge of OD frameworks, operating models, and transformation methodologies.

    Systems Thinking, sees the organisation as an interconnected system designs models that consider dependencies across functions,

    Experience of Target Operating Model (TOM) Design, defines the future-state structure, processes, governance, technology, and people capabilities.

    Ensures TOM supports strategic outcomes like agility, efficiency, and customer experience and applies design principles and integrates cross-functional alignment.

    In addition to Organisation Design, you should also demonstrate strong knowledge, understanding and application of the following competencies.

    Change Management: Strong knowledge and understanding of change management concepts, principles and practices in support of organisational change initiatives and projects.

    Employee Relations: Strong knowledge and understanding of Laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices including dispute resolution and negotiating agreements.

    Managing People: Ability to align the right work with the right people, delegate tasks according to people's strengths and interests and ensure people have the skills and reasonable resources to get things done.

    Working Strategically: Ability to develop a vision to translate this vision into action and communicate company's vision in ways that gain support of others.

    Leading People: Ability to Influence others in a positive way, align and build effective teams and to work effectively with senior management

    Managing Stakeholders: Capability to understand the importance of stakeholder engagement, to respond to stakeholder needs, manage expectations and develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
