    Business Support Executive

    Dublin City Centre Contract €50k - €70k

    Business Support Executive

    About the job

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in Ireland's sustainable energy sector for a Business Decarbonisation Supports Executive.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced energy, sustainability, engineering or business professional to join a highly motivated team delivering programmes that help Irish businesses reduce energy consumption, improve efficiency and accelerate decarbonisation.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of energy efficiency, renewable energy, business sustainability, programme delivery and national climate policy.

    The Role

Reporting to the EXEED Programme Manager, you will provide project management, technical and operational support to the EXEED programme and the wider Business Supports & Transport team.

You will work with businesses, technical experts, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery and continual improvement of energy and decarbonisation supports.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide project management, technical and operational support to the EXEED Programme Manager and Head of Business Supports & Transport.
    • Support the end-to-end administration and delivery of EXEED grant schemes, including applications, evaluations, grant offers, grant management, inspections and payments.
    • Conduct technical reviews of commercial and industrial grant applications, assessing energy efficiency and decarbonisation opportunities.
    • Provide constructive technical feedback and guidance to applicants and programme participants.
    • Manage relationships with applicants, suppliers, outsourced partners, IT teams, technical experts and other stakeholders.
    • Identify and deliver improvements to programme processes, customer journeys and service delivery.
    • Analyse programme performance data and contribute to ongoing evaluation, reporting and enhancement.
    • Support the development and delivery of educational resources, training, webinars, guides and content for energy professionals and businesses.
    • Contribute to initiatives designed to increase the impact of energy audits and support businesses in implementing energy efficiency measures.
    • Develop and manage internal and third-party resources required to support programme delivery.
    • Contribute to case studies, web content, communications and social media engagement.
    • Represent the organisation at meetings, industry events and stakeholder forums, including presentations and speaking engagements.
    • Contribute to programme strategy, work planning and the ongoing development of sustainable energy supports.
    • Keep up to date with relevant Irish and EU energy, climate and sustainability policy and disseminate key developments internally.
    • Support strategic policy development in line with national Climate Action Plan objectives and organisational priorities.
    • Undertake other duties as required by the Programme Manager or Head of Department.
    • Demonstrate flexibility during periods of increased programme activity and workload.

    What We're Looking For

We are seeking a proactive and commercially aware professional who combines strong project management capability with an understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy and business decarbonisation.

You will be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, technical specialists, businesses and external stakeholders.

    Essential requirements include:

    • A degree at NFQ Level 8 or above in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science.
    • At least three years' relevant professional experience in energy, sustainability, business or a related field. Postgraduate studies may be considered as part of this experience.
    • Strong project management and business process development skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and competing deadlines.
    • Experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations and public speaking.
    • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgement.
    • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
    • Technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency within commercial and/or industrial environments.

    Desirable Experience

The following experience would be advantageous:

    • Experience within sustainable energy, energy efficiency, decarbonisation or environmental programmes.
    • Experience working with the SME or industrial sectors.
    • A strong understanding of the commercial challenges facing Irish businesses.
    • Experience developing or delivering training, educational programmes or technical guidance.
    • Experience analysing data and communicating insights to different audiences.
    • Experience in building energy retrofit, industrial energy efficiency or business sustainability.
    • Experience managing high-volume grant programmes or client-facing services.
    • Knowledge of energy, environmental or quality management systems.
    • Experience delivering positive customer experiences and improving customer journeys.
    • Proficiency in the Irish language.

    The Ideal Candidate

You will be a motivated and organised professional with a genuine interest in helping businesses transition towards a lower-carbon future.

    You will bring:

    • A proactive, results-focused approach.
    • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
    • The ability to manage scope, time, risk, cost and quality.
    • Strong commercial and strategic awareness.
    • Confidence communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • A collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills.
    • A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
    • The ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
    • A willingness to stay current with developments in energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainability and climate policy.
