About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder - Air Exports to join our clients busy Operations team in Dublin.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing air export shipments from booking through to completion, ensuring that all operational and administrative requirements are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with customer expectations, service level agreements and company procedures.
You will work closely with customers, agents, carriers and internal teams to deliver a high-quality freight forwarding service while maintaining compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate air export shipments from booking through to final completion.
- Receive and process bookings from clients and overseas agents.
- Make bookings with airlines and other carriers.
- Plan, arrange, monitor and control export shipments.
- Prepare and complete all required operational and administrative documentation.
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
- Respond promptly and effectively to customer and operational queries.
- Handle immediate non-conformities, ensuring product safety and customer satisfaction.
- Process shipments using company IT systems, including CargoWise.
- Ensure timely and accurate sales invoicing.
- Process costs, including accruals and purchase invoices.
- Assist with customs clearance activities.
- Prepare quotations where required.
- Ensure all Dangerous Goods shipments are handled in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, legal requirements and industry standards.
- Provide holiday and absence cover when required.
- Complete general administrative and operational duties as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and a strong quality-focused culture.
- Promote and maintain a safe, secure and healthy working environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing Operations team.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant training or qualifications in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain management.
- At least 2 years' experience in Air Export Freight Forwarding.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector would be highly advantageous.
- GDP (Good Distribution Practice) training or experience.
- Dangerous Goods training or experience.
- Strong knowledge of export forwarding processes and documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good numerical and administrative abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
- Experience with CargoWise would be an advantage.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
