Role Overview
My client is currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join their team as a Security Operations & Engineering Lead. In this role you will lead and support technical information security activities, resolve complex security issues, mentor team members, and improve security processes to protect organizational assets. You will also serve as deputy to the Information Security Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and support team members across technical security domains, providing guidance to the team on daily operations.
- Drive progress toward security goals, while taking responsibility for key organisational objectives
- Serve as a primary escalation point for internal stakeholders, applying a risk-based approach to solve technical security issues.
- Contribute to planning and delivering security strategy and support business initiatives.
- Identify and drive security improvements by assessing current capabilities and emerging technologies.
- Implement and maintain appropriate security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
- Lead the implementation of cybersecurity best practices across areas such as asset management, encryption, network and cloud security, access control, physical/environmental security, operations security, and communication security.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in technical information security roles.
- 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP, CSA+, ECIH, GIAC, ISO 27001, or similar.
- Strong background in network security, cloud security, incident response, threat and vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
