An Opportunity to Lead Quality at Site Level
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business supplying a diverse product range to major retail customers. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quality professional looking to take ownership of quality and food safety within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will lead a close-knit Quality team (4-5 individuals) and play a key role in maintaining standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting the wider operational team.
This position offers significant visibility across the business and would suit someone looking to develop their leadership career within a customer-focused, multi-retailer manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site's Quality and Food Safety systems, ensuring products consistently meet customer, legal and company requirements.
Working closely with Production and site leadership, you will champion a strong quality culture, support audit readiness and drive improvements across systems, processes and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site Quality team, providing coaching, support and direction.
- Maintain and continuously improve food safety, quality and compliance systems.
- Ensure compliance with retailer standards, customer requirements and relevant legislation.
- Lead customer, third-party and regulatory audits, ensuring successful outcomes and effective corrective action management.
- Manage internal audits, non-conformance investigations, customer complaints and root cause analysis.
- Support supplier approval and raw material compliance activities.
- Monitor quality performance, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Production and other departments to drive standards across the site.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site management and operational teams.
About You
- Experience in a Quality, Technical or Food Safety role within food manufacturing.
- Experience working within a multi-retailer manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience hosting and leading customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Previous people management or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Degree qualified in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management or a related discipline.
