With expanding web and mobile applications built on contemporary cloud technologies, they are now hiring a QA Lead to strengthen their quality function.
Job Overview
This is a hands-on QA Lead role with responsibility for owning and elevating quality across the entire platform. You will lead a small QA team, define and execute the quality strategy, expand automation coverage and guide the organisation toward a more mature, data-driven QA practice. The role suits someone both technical and organised, who can work strategically while remaining close to the detail-planning releases, investigating issues, improving processes and coaching others to deliver consistently high standards.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the company's end-to-end Quality Strategy, including governance, automation frameworks, release processes and quality KPIs.
- Assess current QA maturity and implement a roadmap for improvement across people, processes, tooling and metrics.
- Lead, mentor and support a QA team of approximately three people, setting standards for test design and documentation.
- Implement structured release management practices with risk-based testing, reproducibility and traceability.
- Drive automation across web, mobile and API layers using modern tools and methodologies.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product and DevOps to embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
- Report on and drive accountability through quality metrics such as defect leakage, automation coverage and MTTD/MTTR.
- Represent QA in leadership discussions, communicating risks, quality trends and improvement plans.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive QA experience, including at least 2 years in a QA leadership role within a SaaS, mobile or cloud-based environment.
- Experience building or maturing a QA function, including test strategy development and process governance.
- Relevant QA or Test Management certification (ISTQB Advanced, CSQE or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong technical grounding across React, Laravel/PHP (or equivalent), RESTful APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines), observability tools and version control.
- Hands-on automation experience using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Appium or Postman.
- Experience with test management platforms such as TestRail, Zephyr or Xray.
- Ability to build, interpret and act on QA dashboards and data-driven insights.
- Knowledge of secure SDLC and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or OWASP.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence engineering and product leadership.
