This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join one of Ireland's leading contractors with large-scale projects in Cork.
Position: Project Manager
Location: Cork
Salary: €70-80k DOE plus bonus, pension, and company car
The main responsibilities include:
- Lead the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Take full responsibility for all on-site and off-site project activities, managing the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones.
- Develop and implement detailed project programmes, resource plans, risk registers, and cost control measures in collaboration with senior leadership and the commercial team.
- Oversee all aspects of project governance including compliance with contractual obligations, building regulations, BCAR, and health & safety requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, design teams, consultants, and key stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chair senior-level project meetings, including progress reviews, design workshops, and commercial meetings, ensuring timely decision-making and issue resolution.
- Proactively manage project risks, identifying and mitigating issues early to avoid delays and budget overruns.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained to the highest standard and prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the final commissioning and handover process, ensuring full compliance and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Third-level qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of proven experience in a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager role, delivering complex construction projects in Ireland.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of construction methodologies, contract law, procurement, and project financials.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- A strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.
