Head of Finance (Interim)
The Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Head of Finance for a temporary contract based at our Cork facility. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the site's financial performance, governance, and strategic planning. We are looking for a "driver" who can maintain operational excellence and provide authoritative commercial insight during this period.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Provide high-quality financial interpretation and guidance on the business's performance and position.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a core partner to the Senior Management Team, distilling complex financial data into actionable strategy.
- Operational Rhythm: Own the monthly reporting cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Governance & Control: Foster a culture of strong financial governance, ensuring absolute compliance with regulatory and internal audit standards.
- Team Mentorship: Lead and develop the existing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Professional Qualification: Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
- Industry Experience (Preferred): Significant senior leadership experience within specialized manufacturing, chemicals, or the pharmaceutical/biotech sectors.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level understanding of financial controls, statutory reporting, and commercial risk management.
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced skills in ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and Business Intelligence tools.
- Leadership Style: An articulate communicator with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude, capable of bridging the gap between detailed operations and board-level strategy.
