Morgan McKinley is partnering with a global technology manufacturer to appoint a Packaging Graphic Designer in a contract position to join their in-house creative team.
This role focuses on developing innovative, high-quality packaging solutions across a diverse product portfolio, including new product launches, range updates and broader brand-led initiatives. You will contribute to both conceptual and executional stages of packaging design, ensuring consistency, creativity and commercial impact.
As part of a collaborative internal design function, you'll be actively involved in design critiques, cross-functional discussions and iterative development. The team is looking for a proactive, ideas-driven designer who can translate strategic thinking into engaging, well-crafted packaging experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely within a multidisciplinary design team, partnering with marketing, product and commercial stakeholders
- Contribute across the full packaging design lifecycle, from early concept development through to final production-ready artwork
- Balance attention to fine design detail with a strong understanding of broader brand and business objectives
- Collaborate with fellow designers to elevate creative standards and challenge design thinking
- Present ideas clearly and confidently during internal reviews and stakeholder presentations
- Support occasional domestic and international travel as required
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on packaging design and production (consumer products experience preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex design challenges while contributing to team-led initiatives
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, layout and visual storytelling
- Proven experience managing deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards across multiple projects
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, along with experience using tools such as Figma and Google Workspace
- Solid understanding of print processes and production requirements
- Detail-oriented approach, with confidence preparing accurate files and reviewing proofs
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to varied audiences
- A diverse portfolio showcasing innovative thinking, craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities
Education
- Degree in Graphic Design or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
