Working within the site EH&S team, this person acts as an SME and advisor to all Business Units / functions on site in relation to health & safety matters to support day to day base business. Assists with the design, implementation, maintenance and review of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate and industry requirements.
Roles and responsibilities
- Ensuring that all relevant company policies and standards, site procedures are adhered to and that all regulatory requirements are met.
- Provide support to functions for Incident & accident investigation
- Provides EHS support to the introduction of management of change process
- Assist in the preparation, implementation and review of EHS Procedures and other EHS documents appropriate to the scope of site activities and in compliance with J&J requirements.
- Provide technical support for the site risk assessment / JSA programme and assist in implementing appropriate control measures for identified risks.
- Collating and reporting of EH&S metrics / KPIs
- Develop, support and delivery of EHS training programs
- Perform periodic walkdowns / audits / programme reviews to ensure compliance with safety and environmental permits, plans, policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- 3rd level degree in EHS, science or engineering or other related discipline.
- At least 3 years experience in an EHS role in a regulatory environment
- Sound knowledge of EHS legislation
- Experience with chemicals/hazardous materials
- Good written, oral communication & interpersonal skills
- Highly proactive, mature judgement and decision making ability
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Self-directed & demonstrated efficient work methods, problem solving skills & ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Powerpoint
- Familiar with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) & health and safety management system (ISO 45001)
Preferred Requirements:
- Green Belt certified
- Process safety qualification / experience
- Machine safety qualification / experience
