The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive safety culture across the site. This is a hands-on role, requiring frequent floor presence, coaching of employees, conducting inspections, and direct involvement in EHS improvements. The EHS Manager will partner with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure safe work practices and compliance with all applicable legislation and company standards.
Lead and manage all site-level EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
Conduct daily/weekly floor walks, inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
Drive incident prevention efforts through coaching, behavioural safety engagement, and corrective actions.
Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and track closure of corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and employee training sessions.
Ensure compliance with OSHA / HSE / local regulatory requirements.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), permits, certifications, and other documentation.
Coordinate emergency response planning, training, and drills.
Manage contractor safety, including permits to work and site orientations.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste, emissions, water, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
Monitor environmental performance indicators and maintain required environmental records.
Lead waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
Oversee environmental reporting and interface with regulatory bodies as needed.
Maintain and improve the site's EHS Management System (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 if applicable).
Track KPIs and present performance data to site leadership.
Lead safety committees and facilitate regular safety meetings.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site safety culture.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or relevant experience).
5+ years of experience in EHS roles, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similar high-risk environment.
Strong working knowledge of relevant H&S and environmental regulations.
Hands-on experience conducting audits, inspections, training, and incident investigations.
Experience implementing and maintaining EHS management systems (ISO standards preferred).
Strong leadership with a proactive, floor-focused approach.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation.
Practical problem-solving skills and ability to drive corrective actions.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in EHS software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
