    Clerical Officer - Grade 3 Mallow

    We're seeking a Clerical Officer to join a busy medical setting in Mallow. This full-time contract role is perfect for someone who's highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced administrative environment.

    Salary - €17:04 ph

    Hours 9-5pm

    Duration 3 months to begin with

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and update waiting lists, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Book and confirm appointments with patients and clinicians.
    • Communicate directly with patients by phone and email, providing updates and confirming appointment details.
    • Liaise with psychologists and other team members to confirm pre- and post-appointment details.
    • Manage appointment logistics, ensuring patients are scheduled at the most convenient available location.
    • Conduct appointment validation checks and follow up on cancellations or changes.
    • Handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism, particularly when engaging with service users who have been waiting extended periods for appointments.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with data protection and confidentiality standards.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within healthcare, public sector, or another customer facing environment.
    • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a professional phone manner.
    • Comfortable handling challenging conversations and managing expectations in a calm, empathetic manner.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, with the ability to manage scheduling, emails, and data entry efficiently.
    • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
    • Flexible and solution-focused, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The successful candidate should be resilient, empathetic, and able to remain professional under pressure while delivering a high standard of administrative support to the team.
