Role Overview
The Production / Packaging Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing and packaging operations by inspecting products, preparing shipments for sterilisation, and completing final packaging for distribution to laboratories. The role ensures all products meet quality standards and are handled according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect semi-finished products upon receipt from suppliers to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
Prepare shipment boxes containing products and arrange them on pallets according to the defined pallet configuration for sterilisation shipment to Tullamore.
Receive sterilised products upon return and carry out de-boxing and tray loading activities.
Conduct inspection of finished products to confirm compliance with quality standards.
Perform secondary packaging by placing each product into a carton along with the Instructions for Use (IFU) and patient card.
Apply labels to cartons and carry out shrink-wrapping processes where required.
Pack finished cartons into shipping boxes and prepare them for onward distribution to laboratories.
Maintain accurate records and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout all processes.
Ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or packaging environments is desirable.
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or laboratory products) is an advantage.
Basic understanding of quality inspection processes.
