Automation Engineer required for a 12 month rolling contract in Cork. The successful candidate will lead the design, development and delivery of complex automated manufacturing systems within the medical device industry.
You will manage projects from concept through to production release, working closely with internal teams, equipment suppliers and system integrators. The role covers equipment design and build, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, validation, process characterisation and production handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex automation projects, delivering against scope, schedule, budget, quality and performance targets.
- Manage automation suppliers and system integrators throughout equipment design, build and validation.
- Provide technical leadership across controls, robotics, machine vision, mechanical and automation systems.
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ and process validation activities.
- Characterise and optimise automated processes to improve quality, capability, yield, cycle time and reliability.
- Ensure equipment and documentation meet medical-device quality, regulatory and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in the medical device/Food/highly regulated industry
- Strong track record with Vision Systems, Controls and Mechanical Design.
- Experience delivering complex automated equipment from design through production.
- Strong experience managing vendors / equipment suppliers.
- Experience in process characterisation, qualification and validation within a regulated environment.
- Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Availability to travel during FAT and equipment build stage
