A foreign investment bank is looking for a junior application support engineer to join their trading application support team. This team focuses on Equities Derivatives products and sit on trading floor to support users across APAC especially in Hong Kong and Singapore. You will be joining a team of 4pax responsible for handling trading platforms on linux systems, run automation and BAU tasks around Linux OS and Database. Best to have financial understandings in market structure and product knowledge, or you are eager and willing to learn throughout the process.
Job duties:
- Oversee Equities & Derivatives Trading applications across APAC markets, utilizing both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Provide support to traders by diagnosing and resolving functional and technical issues in the production environment.
- Manage daily production problems and user requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with clients, while reporting bugs to development teams.
- Lead business-driven projects and conduct quality assurance testing, including deployment and upgrades of critical trading systems.
- Monitor system performance, address issues, follow ITIL methodologies for incident management, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field of study.
- Good knowledge of cash and derivatives products and market rules.
- Experience with system monitoring.
- Proficient in Linux/Unix environments, including Shell scripting.
- Proficient in Excel/VBA and Python for both Linux and Windows environments.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in English
