Technical Services Engineer

Job Title

Technical Services Engineer with a leading building materials company in Cavan.

Overview

• Customer-facing technical role within a specialist technical services team

• Provides high-level technical support to customers and internal stakeholders

• Focused on construction product specification, design support, and digital engagement

• Plays a key role in enhancing customer experience through technical expertise and digital tools

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical point of contact for customers across a broad range of construction-related topics

• Provide technical guidance to both transactional and non-transactional customers during product specification

• Advise on product performance, including:

  • Fire performance

  • Environmental impact

  • Thermal performance

  • Structural performance

  • Acoustic performance

• Carry out design calculations using company-provided software, including:

  • Gutter design calculations

  • Fastener calculations and panel span checks

  • Acoustic performance assessments

  • U-value calculations and condensation risk analysis

• Develop in-house CAD details and bespoke, project-specific design solutions

• Support digital specification services in collaboration with BIM and digital teams

• Provide tailored design support to architects using AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3D software

• Deliver augmented reality or visual design presentations where required

• Conduct virtual consultations and attend face-to-face meetings with architects, engineers, and contractors

• Capture and manage project opportunities within a CRM system to support the external sales function

• Support junior team members and contribute to internal technical and process improvement projects

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience within the construction or built-environment sector

• Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Tekla is highly desirable

• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Proactive, customer-focused mindset with strong technical problem-solving ability
