The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities to ensure the timely acquisition of materials needed for production while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to support our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Purchase materials and components required for manufacturing operations in accordance with production schedules and inventory targets.
- Analyze demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory levels to determine procurement needs and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate price, and maintain relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure alignment between procurement activities and production schedules, minimizing disruptions and delays.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as production, logistics, and quality assurance to address any supply chain issues and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Generate and maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier contracts.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, bulk purchasing, and alternative sourcing strategies.
Key requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
