A global US insurance company is seeking to hire a high calibre corporate lawyer for its London office, responsible for a broad range of corporate and commercial matters within the business

A leading US insurance and reinsurance company is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel to join its legal team in London.

The role is broad and all encompassing and as part of a lean legal function, you will be given the opportunity to take responsibility for a broad range of work and advising the business on multiple legal issues including:

• Assistance with corporate transactions including joint ventures and M&A activity
• Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including service, confidentiality and IT agreements
• Providing assistance on company law and corporate governance to the Company Secretary. This will include assistance with board meetings and resolutions, minute taking, scheduling of AGMs and corporate filings
• Assistance of wider legal matters including regulatory, employment and compliance

Candidate Requirements

• Ideally you will be a qualified solicitor with at least 1 years' PQE from a leading law firm or have experience in house already in an insurance environment.
• It would be advantageous if you have insurance sector experience and corporate /commercial technical experience.
• You will be a true team player and open to working on multiple simultaneous matters. You will be given autonomy to advise the business with the rest of the legal team on international and domestic corporate and commercial issues.
• You will have strong verbal and written communication skills together with the ability to be self-motivated.
