IT Applications Delivery Lead
Summary
This opportunity is on our clients Build & Delivery team and responsibilities will span across solution architecture, applications, infrastructure, technical delivery and supplier management and performance. The successful candidate will report into the Applications Manager and will work closely with different teams within IT Operations. This role requires strong experience in maintaining and enhancing enterprise and business applications, and candidates will ideally come from a utility background.
Key Responsibilities
- Enable successful applications project delivery as a key IT facilitator.
- Manage and supervise a portfolio of applications projects, collaborating with Business change teams, stakeholders, and internal/external resources.
- Ensure timely completion of IT activities including impact assessment, design, testing, and implementation within scope and budget.
- Review IT artefacts and solution designs, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and IT governance.
- Manage overall IT implementation and cutover planning, including Go Live preparation and adherence to IT Governance procedures. Additionally, support project managers and other IT Leads, serving as an escalation point when necessary, and taking ownership to ensure successful project delivery.
- Align with IT Strategy, oversee IT Applications stability, software version maintenance, upgrades, and financial activities such as PRs/POs, IT CAPEX/OPEX management, and Service Transition inputs.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the business, including IT Operations, Project Managers, Business Subject Matter Experts, and Business Change.
- Support the Transformation Programme, driving results within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting expected behaviours.
Requirements
- Coordinate IT project activities for quality delivery.
- Manage complex projects across multiple IT domains.
- Anticipate and mitigate project risks effectively.
- Preferably hold relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Ideally have 5+ years' experience in water or utilities industries.
- Demonstrate strong people management and coaching skills.
