Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a Multinational Pharmaceutical Company based in South Dublin.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Global Accounts Payable as a valuable member of a shared service team. Your primary responsibility will be managing an assigned portfolio of vendors, contributing significantly to the establishment and future development of the global payables function in Dublin.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong business relationships with vendors in the assigned portfolio.
  • Managing escalated issues by directly coordinating with Purchasing and Receiving departments to resolve invoice matters.
  • Corresponding with vendors, handling inquiries, and maintaining records of vendor contacts and ongoing issues.
  • Preparation of payments to vendors according to the agreed-upon payment schedule.
  • Matching, coding, and processing vendors' invoices and credit notes.
  • Ensuring targets for invoices on hold are met.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to secure proper approval for invoices.
  • Reconciliation of vendors' statements as required.
  • Producing monthly reports and contributing to the monthly close process.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Team Leader/Manager.

Qualifications:

  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Shared Service Centre, particularly with a multinational publicly quoted company, spanning over 2 years in payables.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with SAP or other major ERP systems.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • A team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
