As Industrial Engineer you will be joining a team of 4 highly skilled individuals who are currently driving change through project management on key production lines within the organisation. The successful individual will be asked to apply lean manufacturing tools and methodologies DMAIC/PS to improve processes, reduce waste, or solve manufacturing problems. Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, as well as cross-functional team to improve all aspects of business performance aligned with global and site strategies.
This is initially a 12 month contract position and it is an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a company that really makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the Operational Excellence team, in conjunction with production areas and support teams, to drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Line Optimization, Variation Tracking, Born Lean, 5S, CI, Standard Work, Lean Business Process (LBP), and other Lean-related programs.
- Train, coach and mentor employees on Lean Manufacturing systems and tools at all levels
- Measure, set and display the Work Content of the manufacturing process (time studies and Work Content Graph)
- Support Production Supervisor on Capacity Modelling and Planning.
- Enhance and Improve the Lean culture onsite.
- Lead and facilitate Line Optimisation Initiatives
- Develop creative and innovative solutions to diverse business problems.
- Work closely with R&D and Process Development to help launch new products and processes.
- Provide regular sitewide communication of Operational Excellence metrics.
- Influence senior management by providing data analysis support.
- Collaborate with senior industrial engineers, production, NPI, and support functions on Layout design, drawing, and governance.
- Act as a change agent in driving innovation and re-engineering new and existing processes.
- Collaborate with senior industrial engineers, production, and Manufacturing Engineers on the setting, validation and sustaining of the engineering standard time.
Key Requirements:
- Degree level qualified in a STEM discipline or equivalent education.
- Proven experience in Continuous Improvement and expertise in Lean tools within an operational environment.
- Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management a distinct advantage
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes cGMP, industry regulations, process development and new product introduction.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
