Purpose: Ensure reliable 24×7 operation of Production and DR Data Centres through facility monitoring, asset/inventory management, access control, remote hands support, batch job execution, manual operations, issue escalation, and non-office-hours user account services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine facility walk-throughs, log environmental readings, and escalate alarms/alerts
- Conduct regular hardware inventory checks and maintain accurate records of movements, rack diagrams, and location mappings
- Enforce data centre access, security key, and escort procedures; keep precise access logs
- Execute standard hardware installation and secure degaussing/disposal per bank standards
- Manage 24×7 hotline services and up-to-date contact information for both sites
- Provide daily remote hands support (tape insertion/ejection, scratch tape preparation for AS400 backups)
- Execute scheduled manual operations, batch job submission/monitoring/restarts, and server/service reboots on Windows, UNIX, and AS400 systems
- Monitor email alerts/notifications and take instructed actions promptly
- Follow predefined escalation and external-party contact procedures for delays or issues
- Prepare daily operations status reports and track offsite tapes/hardware inventory
- Provide non-office-hours helpdesk support for user account validation and approval
Job Requirements
- Higher Diploma / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in data centre operations and batch job execution Banking industry experience is an advantage but not required
- Willing and able to work 12 hours rotating shifts
- Able to accurately follow predefined instructions and standard operating procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team
- Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility
