The Role:

Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities for new backpack, headgear and glove products.
- Generate innovative product concepts and designs that meet customer needs and market demands.
- Create detailed product specifications, including materials, construction methods, and performance requirements.
- Develop prototypes and samples, working closely with pattern makers, sewers, and manufacturers.
- Oversee the testing and evaluation of prototypes, ensuring they meet performance, durability, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with sourcing and manufacturing teams to select appropriate materials and production partners.
- Manage the product development timeline and budget, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop product launch plans and promotional materials.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor products, and technological advancements.
- Travel to factories and trade shows as needed.
- Manage and maintain product documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and test reports.
- Ensure products comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Textiles, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product development, preferably in the outdoor industry, with a focus on backpacks, headgears and/or gloves.
- Strong understanding of backpack and glove construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of textile science and material properties.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for the outdoors and a strong understanding of the needs of outdoor enthusiasts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with overseas manufacturing is a plus.
