US Tax Lead - Toronto (Fully Onsite)

A well-established global company is searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented US Tax Lead to manage and oversee all aspects of their US tax function. If you are a self-starter with a strong background in US GAAP, IFRS, and corporate tax, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

The US Tax Lead will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:

• Tax Provision & Reporting: Leading the preparation of the Group's US income tax provision and calculating the effective US income tax rate for financial reporting.
• Compliance: Coordinating US federal, state, and local estimated and final income tax payments. Managing data coordination for US income tax return preparation.
• Audits & Correspondence: Co-leading the income tax audit process (analysis, documentation, and communication with tax authorities). Managing all tax authority correspondence.
• Planning & Strategy: Developing quarterly transfer pricing adjustments. Researching and communicating relevant US federal and state income tax developments. Assisting the CFO with North American tax planning and special projects to achieve operational efficiencies.
• Management: Overseeing external service providers for US income tax matters and assisting management with dividend recommendations (accumulated earnings).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• CPA professional accounting designation is required.
• 5-7 years of progressive US income tax experience, preferably from a public accounting firm or a mid-level industry position.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS principles, particularly as they relate to income tax financial statement disclosures.
• Proficiency with tax research tools and software.
