A global luxury and lifestyle brand group is seeking a Senior HR Operations Manager to lead people operations across Japan and Korea. This role is responsible for delivering compliant, scalable, and high-quality HR services, while enhancing employee experience in alignment with global HR strategy. You will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to drive operational excellence and support a dynamic, multicultural workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR operations across Japan and Korea, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery
- Align regional people operations with global HR strategy, priorities, and governance
- Drive operational excellence through process standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement
- Oversee employment compliance, audits, and adherence to local labor regulations
- Manage, coach, and develop a regional People Operations team and external vendors
- Own and optimize core HR systems and case management platforms
- Enhance employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 8+ years of HR operations experience, including regional or multi-country scope
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory compliance in Japan (Korea experience is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with HR systems and case management tools (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, or similar)
- Proven experience leading HR projects, process improvements, and operational transformations
- Experience managing teams and vendors within complex organizations
Soft Skills:
- Strong sense of ownership with high accountability and attention to detail
- Analytical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to lead through change and operate effectively in ambiguous environments
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style that motivates and develops teams
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Regional HR operations experience across Japan and Korea, including payroll exposure
- Advanced HR systems experience, including digital transformation or system integration projects
- Experience working in multicultural, global organizations; Korean language capability is a plus
