A global logistics and supply chain company is seeking a Head of People & Organization to lead its HR function in Japan. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the full HR agenda while partnering closely with global stakeholders and the Japan Managing Director to drive organizational success.
You will play a key role in shaping the employee experience, leading organizational transformation, and strengthening a performance-driven culture. This position offers the opportunity to represent Japan from a People & Organization perspective in global discussions, ensuring alignment between global strategy and local HR practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Japan from a People & Organization perspective in discussions with global leadership.
- Align HR strategies and practices across Japan business units with global organizational goals.
- Drive organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
- Lead and develop a team of 4-5 HR professionals.
- Oversee the full HR function including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and organizational development.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director on all people-related topics.
- Strengthen and promote a high-performance organizational culture across the business.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a senior HR leadership role with responsibility for country-level HR strategy.
- Strong HR background covering the full spectrum of HR functions including talent management, employee relations, and compensation.
- Proven experience making and implementing HR strategic decisions.
- Experience managing small to mid-sized HR teams.
- Bachelor's degree required.

- Excellent judgement and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work effectively within matrix and dual-reporting organizational structures.
